It is important that you are aware that there are many sources for information, support and advice when it comes to career advice:

  • Parents/family and friends
  • School staff adviser - Every pupil has an identified staff adviser
  • School Careers officer - Mr Alan Jones
  • School/Work transition worker - Ms Jaqui Fitzpatrick
  • Pastoral Care teacher - either Mr G Robertson or Mrs B Templeman
  • The careers library within the LRC - Mr Ian McCracken
  • The internet

Within the school we have a weekly timetabled period called "Adviser" when every pupil in the school has their allocated meeting time with their alloted member of staff who is their advisor. Staff advisers will try to answer any questions that pupils may have related to careers and subject choices. However, all pupils are responsible for making their own investigations into career possibilities.  To help pupils with this there are numerous bodies that offer advice.
