Welcome from our Headteacher

I am really delighted to be writing this introduction for Govan High’s new website.  One of the great things about the school is the success of its pupils and former pupils.  The website will allow everyone to keep up to date with these successes and also get useful information about what’s going on in the school.

Our school aim is ‘Achieving our full potential’ and the school motto is ‘Nihil sine labore’ or ‘Nothing without work’.  These statements summarise something of what we are about, but the detail may be found in the pages of this website.

Govan High has an important place in the heart of the community and this has been the case for nearly 100 years now.  As we look forward to our Centenary on 1^st February 2010, we shall be able to have a worldwide profile for the school so that Govanites, wherever they are, will be in touch with what’s happening in the school and will be able to see what they can do to keep themselves involved.

I do hope that you enjoy looking at the website both now and as it grows and develops in the future.
